Identification of Sensitive Area
in Iran and their Environmental limits for Assessment

Regarding the suggested and applied indexes and criteria by such various international institutions as Conventions of Ramsar, Bonn, IUCN, WI (IWRB),BI, for the selection of special biozones or susceptible natural habitats in order to protect the biodiversity and according to the Iranian environmental experts ; four types of zones under the protection and administration of D.O.E , national and international lagoons, lakes, delta lands, gulfs and estuaries, natural and man-made parks, unique fertile lands of permanent rivers and torrential plains are the most important habitats which conform to the indexes and criteria of susceptible natural habitats and are known as the special biozones or susceptible habitats. Their environmental limits have been proposed to be between 5 and 6 km, in terms of susceptibility, specialty, effectiveness, animal and plant diversity, and habitat conditions to be observed for the implementation of big projects which should be environmentally assessed.
