Not long ago, the use of water energy and producing electricity was taken into consideration by officials, because  it is of great importance in many aspects. One can refer to the compliance of these technologies to environment.

Gotvand-e-Olia Dam is 90 km far from Godarlandar to the south, and is 160 m higher than the sea level. It is to be constructed over  Karoun river .The average width of the Dam,near the construction axis,  is 80 m and due to the special geometrical conditions of the construction site , the dam body and all the its installations should be erected in a limited area. The Dam is proposed to be of earth type with clay core , having a reservoir capacity of 324 million cubic meters .

A few choices for the Dam construction were proposed by the employer , and all of them together with two choices suggested by the EIA team, were assessed.

It is to be said that the alternative NO ACTION or not implementing the project which is considered as not using the natural gifts , and this in turn will lead to slow down the development plans speed , was disapproved with 93 negative points.

The alternative 2 , relating to the dam construction and power plant       which means building the special Gotvand Dam in the highest possible axis in site A, was approved with 137 positive points, and proposed as the appropriate choice for constructing the dam and power plant.
