Public Participation and Environmental Impact Assessment

     Environmental Impact Assessment “EIA” is a scientific and actual process to evaluation of human activities on the environment. The method, because of increasing changes of the environment, pressures of human activities to vital resources ,  and threatening impacts of some developmental projects, is most important environment issues.

     An EIA procedure has many aspects such as social, economical, physical, political, etc… Effectiveness of an EIA is depended to consider these aspects. Thus, Public Participation has significant role in the procedures.

     This paper emphasize on the different aspects of public participation in the EIA, with emphasizing in Iran.
